The Close-up
Discussion Club
"I think it is doubtless that (since 60's - 70's in the West and after 1989 in the East) in the contemporary world an all-encompassing and incredibly powerful culture of relaxation is being developed. This is exceptionally indicative. It goes in parallel with "working", producing, that in turn is just a "Cumulating" - namely Cumulating, accumulation, adding, but not "realization". A pair is being formed: "Cumulating-relaxing". What could be done in time is to "cumulate" - things, goods, values (that are just being accumulated without realizing through tem any human, historical "essence") and to "relax". The Culture of Cumulating-and-Relaxing in the contemporary world is a manifestation of the deep intuition that in time; in "history" (If there is still some meaning left in this word) could already only "be continued". We did what we did and to the utmost - we became everything that we could "become". Now we could only "continue to be" and - to "relax". Having contributed our part to the "accumulation" of "reserves", having "built up reserves"...
