On March 10th "Go & See" - "Close up" Discussion
Club will present Art Group Come On Film industry and young people in
Europe. NisiMasa.
Art Group Come-On is a non-for-profit association and represents NisiMasa
in Bulgaria.
Their presentation will include introduction of the European Youth Organization
NisiMasa thanks to which annual competitions for short movie script is
being held in 14 European countries. The organization was formed in 2001
by a couple of cinema enthusiasts and its activities include organization
of projects related to cinema, cultural integration, workshops for scrip
writing and directing, non-commercial screenings and films distribution
in Europe. The project First Shot: Europe organized by Art Group Come-On
and funded by the Youth Program will be presented.
Two films based on scripts that have won the competition will be presented
- "On a train" 11 min., director Barnabas Toth, Hungary /France
and "Rehearsals" 19 min., director Galina Georgieva, Bulgaria
- as well as the documentary on folk dances of the countries participating
in the project First Shot: Europe (around 20 min., Bulgaria/France/Finland/Italy).
The debate will be focused on the opportunities for young people who are
interested in cinema. Do the official schools give enough? What are the
similarities and differences between the different schools in Europe?
Where are we and is there room for the Bulgarian cinema? Is there such
thing as Bulgarian cinema?
Guest of the Art Group Come-On from France, Finland and Italy will participate
in the debate and tell about the situation of the young cinema enthusiasts
in their countries, about the difficult and easy things in their independent
cinema and will talk about the European identity as a totality of cultures.
